Review

This fifth full-length studio album from the New Jersey post-hardcore band, the follow-up to 2010's The Fire, is their first album not to be on Vagrant, and their first without founding member and principal songwriter Garrett Zablocki, who left the band in 2011 to pursue a solo career. Renacer (Spanish for "To Be Reborn"), produced by Shaun Lopez (Far, Deftones, Will Haven), is a powerful statement of intent on which Senses Fail tear up their rulebook, taking influence from the whole spectrum of heavy music genres to make their biggest, hardest, rawest album to date. ~ John D.
