Golden Best was the third best-of compilation for Izumi Sakai's group Zard, and also represented an attempt to pick up the released singles missed by previous compilations (such as the valiant but short Best: Single Collection in 1999). Early hits like "Goodbye My Loneliness" are represented, as are their last recordings before Sakai's death in 2007. The album actually found its way to the number one spot on the Oricon charts twice -- first on its debut, and again after Sakai's death and an avalanche of purchases from her grieving fans. ~ Adam Greenberg, Rovi
