Review

Bitterness and regret become bigger factors in Wainwright's albums in the 80s. The best of these (also recommended: I'm Alright and More Love Songs), this collection shows tremendous personal insight, continuing passion for children (Wainwright may have written more about children than any contemporary singer/songwriter), and a brave humor, holding out against the little defeats of middle age. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
