Notes: It has been a while since I recorded anything. I'm remembering now how much fun Midomi can be! Moni was listening to Clapton's "Old Sock", so I was looking at the track listing. Then I found this Dixieland-style recording at YouTube, and decided to pirate it for a backing track.
Just leaving my "earprints" here. lol
Fantastic sounding dahlink. :)

Earprints? LOL. That's you, Dahlink

It really is nice to know you listened,
Diva. It's what Midomi is for!
Obrigado for all your comments
yesterday. Love love love!

why didn't you try a capella?
Posted by septem2080 on 07/13/2013.
Why? Why indeed! I used to be such a
purist about doing everything acapella,
I don't know. Some songs just seem to
need to have the counter-melody
Posted by HowardH on 07/14/2013.
I did this song a capella and it's not
diffie at all..
Just for kicks, why don't you try the a
capella version in the record/comment??
You got that soothing relaxing voice
that's good for a capella, after all.

so.. awaiting yours.
Posted by septem2080 on 07/14/2013.
Challenge accepted.
How's this?

The backing track was a little cheesy,
wasn't it. Maybe doing it a cappella
would be better.
Posted by HowardH on 07/14/2013.
it shows "connection failed", can't
listen to it
Posted by septem2080 on 07/14/2013.
For me, too, at first. But patience pays
at Midomi. It's working for me now.
Posted by HowardH on 07/15/2013.
Five shiny stars for your acapella
version too, meu querido, but about
becoming 'purist' again, pleeease,
remember my old suggestion - each and
every time you have the opportunity,
record two versions, one acapella, but
one using a backing track ;)
Posted by diva-br on 09/13/2013.
Five big smiles back at you.

Hmmm... Two versions of everything?

Posted by HowardH on 09/13/2013.
Can you sing me this song while we dance
together? I love foxtrox :O)
Posted by pagarvi on 07/11/2013.
Shall we?
Mmm mm. Mmm-mmm.
So why not mm mmmm m mm.
Posted by HowardH on 07/12/2013.
amaaii mijne frak !....(that is flemish
About more than one year no singing and
then I miss this new one, oh my! Not so
new anymore, and even a very old,
'vintage' one eheh :D but perfect
swinging style for you Howie!
One thing is sure: with or without us,
midomi still is surviving and going why not take profit of it?
Question is: How to join here together
so now and then 'at the same time'
Posted by misspronce on 07/11/2013.
Hah! (And I thought Flemish was the same
as Dutch. Apparently not!)
Wat betekent het?

Yes, "vintage" is the word for this
song. But still a good one.

You are absolutely right. Our group has
(ALMOST) abandoned Midomi (not quite),
but there is still a lot of activity
here. We can stop in to listen, and we
can still add a recording when we are in
the mood. (Should I check your page to
see what you've been up to?)
Posted by HowardH on 07/11/2013.
Well Flemish IS the same as Dutch, only
pronounced a different way...and (like
in this case) a lot of expressions in
different dialects (almost every town or
region had some other).
This one means something like OMG, in
French it could sound like " Eh bien dis
donc, ça alors! "
"Our group" :)
'when we are in the mood': yes, that's
the way it should be. I remark that I
also load up some 'previous' recorded
songs when I am very down :P Nono...
nothing to check yet I guess, except one
latest 'experiment' on YT.

But, wo knows ... a nice guy like you
always can give me some courage;)

Posted by misspronce on 07/11/2013.
Holy mackerel!
(Amaaii mijn mackerel!)

I can yell "Sing!" at you repeatedly if
it will help.
Posted by HowardH on 07/12/2013.
Ehem.. Lara.. "our group" is still here
waiting for your part :P ahaha..
Howard, yell at her :))
Posted by simmy on 07/13/2013.
Sing, Lara!!!!

Posted by HowardH on 07/13/2013.
Hmm...I'm not so sure you will
appreciate my horrible part of the cake,
c'est-à-dire: la tonalité de la voix
n'est pas vraiment du gâteau pour moi
hahaha, mais c'est en (bonne?)
Posted by misspronce on 07/24/2013.
Just try. Diva successfully made it
after like 15 tries :)) so we can surely
work together to make it work ;)
Posted by simmy on 07/24/2013.
Posted by HowardH on 07/24/2013.
So you have added Diva's "slice" to the
mix? Yay!!

Glad to hear that you are recording
Posted by HowardH on 07/26/2013.
Good singing, Howie! Congrats! This is a
beautiful song, nice choice!
Posted by shark85 on 07/09/2013.
Obrigado, Shark.
We can thank my friend Monica for this
choice, since she got me to look at
Clapton's track listing.
Posted by HowardH on 07/11/2013.
Yeahhh, that's it! Sounding like old
days, seen in movies, you know what?
While listening to you here, I felt as
if I were wearing a stylish hat,
gloves... That was great, indeed, meu
fofinho! :D
Obrigada por me deixar ouvir sua voz,
é sempre muito bom poder fazer isso,
sinto-me mais próxima, me faz bem. ;)

Ain't it wonderful how Midomi has always
helped us -- all of us, yes, but
particularly you and me -- to feel

Thanks for coming around, Diva. <chu!>

Shall I check your pages for new

*Swaying to the song while typing, with
my stylish hat, gloves, and pearl
necklace on* ;)
I'll be forever grateful to MiDoMi for
the opportunity of making some wonderful
friends, that I'm sure, will be friends
for life, no matter how often we get in
touch, what I feel is that even if a
year goes by without news from each
other, when it finally happens, it'll
always seem like it was yesterday, no
distance/time issues getting in the way,
nothing changed... :D I do feel like
this, mainly towards you, and a few
more. :)))
Oh, yeahhh - :D - some new recordings
from me, someti-me soon, since I'm
convinced now that those beautiful
harmonies, echoes, well, all those
mixing things are not for me, I can't
grasp them, lol... So, I can only put a
playback and sing (try to) along,
hahaha... For entertainment, as always,
the Music theraphy. ;) Soon, meu
querido. :)))

Stylish hat, gloves, and bijoux by Diva.
Yeah, fancy mixing are not for us,
dahlink. We just sing!
I'm looking forward to your next

April, yes, and before that it was March
2012!!!! I must not wait another 13
Thanks for the encouragement, darling.
And your several new recordings are even
more encouragement. (Do you think we can
revive Midomi to it's former glory?)

Actually, it seems many people still
record here We just need to rejoin in
the fun.

I had forgotten that Louis did this song
Howard! Love it even more your way than
Willie Nelson!!! You are just incredible

microphone? Time to become a true
Posted by HowardH on 05/25/2013.
Nice, this really sounds like an old
LP.. now I only need a gramophone...
Welcome back, Howie! :)
Posted by simmy on 04/16/2013.
Hi, Simmy.
Theoretically, this was just a test of
my new computer's software, etc. To
prove that I can record.

Wasn't there another project I was
supposed to be working on? Hmmm...
Posted by HowardH on 04/16/2013.
old songs are elegant, indeed.
Posted by asteroid on 04/14/2013.
Hi, Asteroid! Long-time-no-see!
Yes, i agree. These old songs have a
lot of class. And even after we have
heard them a thousand times, we can
still appreciate the artistry that their
creators employed.
Posted by HowardH on 04/16/2013.
Hi Howard, this recording really sounds
like the 30's, lol and with the "old
sock" midomi effect, like Moni says, it
was just perfect! :D *****
Posted by Guillermo_ on 04/14/2013.
Guillermo. Que hace? (O k ase?)
Gracias por venir eschucharme.
Posted by HowardH on 04/16/2013.
k ase Escuchando a Howard... O k ase??
Posted by Guillermo_ on 04/17/2013.
Hey Howie! :D you know, your soft voice
together with the way midomi is behaving
lately (with the "sock" effect LOL)
gives this recording and effect... like
those old recordings ww would listen in
a gramophone! It's charming! :D (and
no, I am not saying you are old LOL)
Really nice listening to your voice
Posted by Fallingsta on 04/14/2013.
Hi, Mimita. I'm gonna buy a megaphone so
I can get this effect all the time, LOL!
Thanks for coming to listen. And thanks
for (accidentally) helping me decide
what to record, to get back into
recording after such a long break.
Posted by HowardH on 04/16/2013.
hey man, way to go... come back here ;)
Midomi = fun, particularly when all the
good friend show up here where and

by the way, I can not upload anything
anymore, facing some technical issues
with the studio vs my sound card
mixer... but not giving up.

Meanwhile, stars for ... all of you

Posted by Mike_P on 04/14/2013.
Bonjour, Mike! Thanks for your visit.
Yeah, the more the merrier at Midomi.
So let's revive Midomi!

Sound card issues? No problem!!
Just sing directly into Midomi's
recorder like in the old days. (^_^)
